E-Coat
A decorative and functional single-coat application
E-coating or electro-deposition painting is a wet paint immersion process that was developed in 1930 but did not become popular until the 1970s when the automotive industry started using e-coat as a paint primer. The technology has since found its way in the more decorative and functional (non-primer) single-coat applications as well as a secondary coating paired with electro-plating and powder coating.
